Description The aim of the conference is to provide a stimulus for an international and interdisciplinary debate on the role of education and learning within democratic cultural heritage management in the 21st century. It is widely recognised that the historic environment comprising cultural landscapes, archaeological sites, country houses and their gardens and parks, industrial heritage as well as various types of valuable artefacts, offers great potential for lifelong learning. Education and learning are also proclaimed to be effective methods of both promoting quality heritage care and sustaining public values of cultural heritage within democratic societies at all. Speakers from the United Kingdom, France and the Czech Republic accepted invitation to participate and discuss the role of education within cultural heritage management.
