Description The present paper deals with the process of acquisition of student self-assessment. This process is embodied within the socio-cognitive theory of language acquisition as it is possible to find apparent parallels between this theory of language acquisition and the process of self-assessment acquisition. Those parallels are represented by the social and cognitive conditionality of the process of acquisition of both, the language and self-assessment.
