| Description | The paper is devoted to a comparison of the works by I. S. Turgenev and V. Ya. Bryusovnamed in the same way "Pervaya lyubov´" (First Love). The aim of the paper is to show the difference between the depiction of love by both writers. Although there are some correspondences between the both works – the narrative by first person (Ich-Form), the woman is older as the young man, the woman plays with the man, seizes him, the story includes a love triangle, there is no happy-end at the end of the stories – the analysis of the texts proves, that they differ substantially. I. S. Turgenev depicts the first love as a positive feeling which enriches the hero for his whole life while V. Ya. Bryusov´s hero describes hisfirst encounter with a woman as a short-term story in which both subjects perform a not very frank play with each other. The young man in Bryusov´s story is afraid of losing his own identity and self-esteem which influences his psyche negatively for a longer time. |
