Description | At the beginning of the 20th century, the Grandmaster of the Teutonic Order, archduke Eugen of Austria-Teschen, created an extensive art collection in Bouzov Castle. After the First World War, the collection was, as the property of a Habsburg family member, confiscated and spread across Czechoslovakia. Using available archival materials, the paper attempts to establish the form of the collection and especially the archduke's motivation for its building. |
