Description In recent years there has been a global trend toward recognizing the importance of quality teaching which if followed by increased research on the pedagogical development of university teachers in many countries (Minett-Smith & Davis, 2019; Kálmán, Tynjälä & Skania- kos, 2019; Elken & Stensaker, 2018). And yet, in the Czech Republic, even though debates on Czech higher education have also begun to follow the trend and focus on teaching excellence, there has been no extensive local research in this field. My intended research would take advantage of the unique opportunity to study the pedagogical develop- ment of university teachers in the program Development of pedagogical competences. I would like to combine the dissertation with data from the research Teachers' approach to the involvement of digital technologies in their teaching in connection with the forced transition to dis- tance learning, which reveal information not only about teaching during JS2020, but also provide a picture of how teachers learn to teach with digital technologies.
