| Description | About fourteen Dutch-language titles are published in the Czech Republic every year. The majority of these are translated by experienced translators. Only occasionally do translations made by translators who are still at the beginning of their career appear. This contribution is dedicated to them. In my contribution I answer the following questions: Who are these novice literary translators Dutch-Czech? Which publishers do they work for? Do they receive support from literary funds? What problems do they face? And the central question: how do they get a translation assignment? |
