Description School counseling can be understood as a school-political topic as well as a pedagogicalpsychological topic. This contribution deals with this topic from both perspectives. It partially outlines the function of organizations and challenges (political level) as well as the process of counseling and special topics (pedagogical-psychological level). The aim of this article is to discuss how the topic of school counseling is discussed in selected pedagogical periodicals. Although in the Czech Republic there are special periodicals, this topic is relatively neglected in other more general journals.
