Description | The introduction of new models into disease research usually brings with it a number of limitations and challenges in addition to its advantages. This also applies to the attractive model of patient-specific cardiomyocytes differentiated from human pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC-CM). Using appropriate measurement methods, it is possible to record the electrical activity of hiPSC-CM, which is similar in shape to the ECG. The evaluation of such a recording then allows to obtain values of cycle length (CL) and field potential duration (FPD), which are analogous to the RR and QT intervals on an ECG recording. When evaluating experimental recordings, we have encountered the problem of correctly determining the peak of the slow repolarization component that determines the end of the FPD interval. The aim of this paper is to discuss the correctness of FPD determination in hiPSC-CM. |
