Description The paper deals with the personalities and mainly with the works of selected writers (J. Formánek, P. Hůlová, M. Ryšavý) who established the trend of thematizing exoticism and depicting natural nations in Czech fiction during the years 2000–2010. The author of the paper compares the contemporary prose works of the selected fiction writers with their more recent works and the context of contemporary Czech literature from a thematic and narrative point of view and seeks an answer to the central question whether the thematization of exoticism and natural nations is still a living part of the literary process or whether it was an isolated, "generational" theme of the noughties.
