Citation
Description The article deals with the main problems of working with grammatical terminology in the study of a foreign language using Russian, Czech and Slovak terminology as examples. Using descriptive and comparative methods, it describes the differences of basic grammatical terms in the languages under study, identifies terminological equivalents and highlights the role of an intercultural approach, whereby comparison helps to master complex material more effectively. The author sees the following as the main reasons for the use of linguistic terminology in foreign language teaching: a) students' diverse knowledge and theoretical preparation; b) the difficulty of linguistic terminology; c) problems with translation and equivalence of terms; d) interlingual interference. More attention is paid to the terms used to denote pronouns and numerals, highlighting the differences in the understanding of these word types both within one national tradition and in comparison with, for example, Czech, Slovak and Russian. The results of this analysis may be useful to linguists, teachers and students involved in the teaching and study of these languages, and may provide a valuable contribution to methods of teaching and understanding the language system. The emphasis on linguistic terminology (including an analysis of the correspondences and differences between terms) as well as an understanding of the onomasiological differences and similarities between Czech, Slovak and Russian linguistic terminology can contribute significantly to more effective language teaching.
