Keywords spoken communication; education of formal pronuntiation
Description Educational programmes include, as a part of skills relating to teaching the mother tongue, also skills concerning spoken utterances. It is quite a traditional task, whose fulfilment still lacks perfection, despite the growing importance of spoken communication. The difficulties relating to this task can be the vagueness of the key concepts (mother tongue, communication), specific features of the relationship between formal vs. informal spoken communication as well as the oversimplified view of relationships between spoken vs. written form of language. Within the frame of education it is necessary to find balance between theoretical and practical elements; as far as cultivated pronunciation is concerned, practice is the basic element. The main difficulty from the viewpoint of didactics is the necessity of systematic individual approach to teaching communicative skills which is almost impossible to reach in school conditions.
