Description | The aim of the project is to analyze relations among health-supportive behavior and selected personality characteristics. These relations are studied on population of contemporary university students of various majors. The present study aims to elaborate a part of the research project supported by Czech Science Foundation - Determinants of life satisfaction and health of university students: body concept, health-supportive behavior and selected personality characteristics (no. 406/05/0564). In cluster analysis (k-mean methods) 6 different life style types were defined by using 11 health-related factors. Analyses of variance were conducted to investigate whether people in these life styles differ in levels of self-efficacy, life satisfaction, and in 5 dimensions in Big Five. Participants differ significantly at the 0.01 significance level in all studied variables. Only two life style types can unambiguously be labeled health-supportive. |
