Description The paper presents the results of a research project focused on university-level teaching with the support of information and communication technologies. The project was undertaken at the Faculty of Arts, Masaryk Univresity, in 2007. The authors have opted for a mixed research design; they used both quantitative and qualitative methods. The quantitative part of the research focuses on didactic equipment of e-courses and kinds of tools of the Moodle system which were used. The e-courses are classified into 3 groups: distance e-courses, blended-learning courses, and courses used as a support to regular classes. The qualitative part of the research seeks answers to questions such as How do teachers think about their use of e-learning?, In which ways is their thinking imprinted in the structure and form of e-learning courses? etc.
