Description This poster introduces the methodological approach and selected findings of the CPV Video Study of English that is being carried out by the Educational Research Centre of the Masaryk University’s Faculty of Education. The results of analysed data (79 lesson units) show that English instruction is very teacher-centered in the Czech Republic. The main emphasis is layed on practicing new content and revising. The traditional didactic tools (such as blackboard, textbook or worksheets) are used often, while new media (such as ICT, audio, video recordings) are used rarely. The nature of digital video data allows for yet further secondary analyses in the future that will concentrate on other important aspects of teaching English.
