Description The article starts with an analysis of the notion of visual literacy and than introduces it as one of the issues that should play important role within discussions on the state and future developments of the Czech art education and its theory. The first part of the article focuses on the very problematic of visual literacy while the first latter relates this problematic to a specific situation of art education which finds itself in a space between (fine art) creation and education.
