Description The author of the present article deals with the phenomenon of Central Europe and the influence of Eastern Slavs, especially the Russians, upon its formation. His analysis focuses mainly on the marginal phenomena not mentioning those he had dealt with in the past (T. G. Masaryk, K. Čapek, V. Černý). The object of his interest is represented by F. Vymazal, A. Vrzal, partly S. Vilinsky, by the dominant figure of F. Kautman and, above all, the general atmosphere of the reception of Russian literature in Czech cultural environment and its peripeteias, sometimes called Haßliebe.
