The Central Library is reopening its doors to students and MU staff

With the decision to move from yellow to green on the traffic-light system, the Central Library building will reopen its doors to students and MU staff on 31 May. It is still necessary to follow hygienic procedures and government measures while being in the library.
Opening hours and the conditions for entry
- Opening hours: Mon–Fri, 9–16
- While being in the library, it is necessary to follow current hygienic procedures, especially to have your mouth and nose covered and stay at least two meters away from one another. Please follow the instructions of the library staff.
- The maximum number of people in the library is 30.
Rules for staying in the library
- To enter and stay in the library, you need to have a negative RT-PCR or antigen test.
- The university offers the possibility of antigen testing to students and employees.
- If you are vaccinated or have already had COVID-19 within the last 180 days, it is not necessary to provide a negative test to enter the library. More information here.

- The Quiet Study Rooms in the Central Library building are open to visitors again, but it is necessary to follow the valid measures. Those are primarily two-meter spacings between individual visitors.
- Group Study Rooms are not accessible until further notice. In case you need to use the Group Study Room equipment for your exam, contact your examiner, and they can book it for you.
- The Reading Room and kitchenettes remain closed.
Library services
Borrowing, renewal and returns
- Returns and borrowing of books can be once again done at the Circulation and Registration Desk.
- Users can now choose their books from the open access collection and pick them up in the library in person. It is still necessary to order books and magazines, stored in the closed stacks, via the catalog.
- The current book ordering system will end on Friday 28 May at 10:00. Books that are not collected at the pick-up place untill this time will be prepared for you at the Circulation and Registration Desk for seven days after receiving the e-mail notification.
- Books can also be returned through the Bibliobox at the entrance to the Arne Novák campus - the books will be returned the next working day.
- Users can still register online.
- If you need a book from one of the FA branch libraries, contact the library directly.
- You don't have to read books only in the study rooms. You can also access them from the comfort of your home. We offer scanning of books from the Central Library's collection and access to them within the E-loans service.

- We continue to purchase online resources. Acquisition department is available in person on Mondays and Wednesdays, 9–12 – other times on phone or online.
- We also offer analyses and search services to faculty staff.
- The library offers help in finding full texts. You can contact us with your questions in person (Consultation Desk, 1st floor), by phone or by e-mail. You can also book an online consultation.
