In the FF MU HR Award Action Plan, we have committed ourselves to support the work-life balance of our faculty employees. One of the steps towards this goal was to provide places for their children in a kindergarten. This commitment was fulfilled with colleagues from other MU faculties and units. On 1 September, Masaryk University opened a children's group called Elánek MUNI in the building on Komenského náměstí. The facility is designed for preschool children, not only for university employees.

In February this year, all Faculty of Arts employees received an e-mail from the faculty management about the planned opening of the children's group with a link to a questionnaire of primary interest in the placement of children. The information was also included in the minutes of the management meeting. Parents of seven children expressed preliminary interest in our faculty in the March questionnaire. Registration opened in May and was announced with an article on the website and the faculty newsletter. In September, three children of parents from FF MU finally joined the kindergarten. We hope that even more will take advantage of this opportunity. Twenty-six children are now attending the nursery, eighteen of whom have parents employed at MU, and children from the public have supplemented the capacity of the nursery.

How does the nursery work?

The children's group is for children aged two years and older. It is located on the first floor of a beautiful historical building of the former Faculty of Medicine on Komenského náměstí. The premises offer a cloakroom, a dining room, a food dispenser and a generous playroom for the children, and of course, sanitary facilities. There is a large park in the immediate vicinity. Professional "aunties" and a great program promise the best preschool care for children.

Opening hours of the children's group are 7:30-15:30. It is also possible to arrange special interest activities, which take place on the kindergarten premises at 7:00-7:30 and 15:30-17:00 when the children are taken care of. Other options can be arranged individually.
