As early as 1 September, workers will begin the general reconstruction of Údolní Street in the section from Husova Street to the intersection with Jiříkovského Street. The work will last until the second half of 2025, and some restrictions will also affect people working or studying at the Faculty of Arts MU.
If you are travelling (either to the M building or the main faculty campus on Arna Novák Street) by public transport, check if your connection will now be routed via a detour route. The changes will mainly affect tram line No. 4, trolleybus lines No. 38 and 39 and bus line No. 68.
Increased traffic (and noise) is expected in Grohova Street – there will be a detour route for cars and lines x4, 38 and 39.
Changes in public transport (CZ)
If you are travelling by car, familiarise yourself with the detour routes. But beware! The section from Husova Street to the intersection with Jiříkovského Street will be closed entirely for passenger and public transport throughout the reconstruction. Car access to the M building area will be possible only with a special permit, which will usually be issued in a specific person's name, phone number and license plate number. As soon as it is ready for collection, the persons concerned will be informed (it is necessary to apply for the permit via the faculty bursar).
According to the Technical Operations Office, the entrance to the premises on Komenského náměstí from Údolní Street will always be maintained from at least one side - i.e. from Husova Street or the other side in the direction of the Obilní trh (via the Marešova-Joštova intersection). However, extra care must be taken when passing through the construction site.
