Catalogue of Lecture Rooms

About the Catalogue

The Catalogue of Lecture Rooms contains detailed information about teaching areas at FA MU. For each room, you will find information about its capacity and technical equipment (furniture, audiovisual equipment) as well as about the teaching method for which the lecture room is primarily designed.

You can search specific lecture rooms by the building in which they are located or by their type. Individual types combine rooms with similar layouts and technical facilities – searching by type will therefore help you find the lecture room that best suits your teaching needs.

Small seminar room (movable furniture, interactive board)

Small seminar rooms with their lower capacity (up to 15 seats) and overall equipment support teaching based on mutual interaction and cooperation between students and teachers and students in groups. They provide a suitable background for discussion, group or project teaching, but they can also be used for classical frontal teaching. The basic element is movable furniture (chairs and/or tables fitted with wheels), which allow you to easily adjust the default room layout for the purposes of different types of teaching activities.

Standard projection options (projection from the teacher’s PC and own laptop) are extended in small seminar rooms by an interactive board, which supports more organic forms of presentation and in combination with suitable applications (Padlet, MS Whiteboard, etc.) further expands the possibilities of mutual cooperation. The loosening of the boundary between the teacher’s space and the students’ space in most small seminar rooms is further strengthened by the absence of a classical desk and the placement of other whiteboards in other areas than just the front wall.

Moreover, some seminar rooms allow you to make presentations wirelessly from a mobile device and record the lecture using a system for easy recording and streaming of lectures.

Large seminar room (movable furniture)

Large seminar rooms with their capacity (from 15 to 30 seats) and overall equipment are similar to lecture rooms, while retaining their basic support for teaching based on mutual interaction and cooperation between students and teachers and students in groups. The movable furniture (desks fitted with wheels) can be easily moved and allow the adjustment of the default room layout for the purposes of different types of teaching activities.

Besides standard projection from the teacher’s PC and your own laptop, most large seminar rooms allow you to make presentations wirelessly from a mobile device and record the lecture using a system for easy recording and streaming of lectures.

Lecture room (fixed hall arrangement)

Lecture rooms with their higher capacity (30 to 150 seats) and overall equipment support frontal teaching. Active and control elements (projection area, whiteboards, projection control, lights and blinds) are located on the front wall or near the desk and the furniture is arranged in rows, so that the students’ attention is directed to the lecturer as much as possible. If necessary, it is possible to move the furniture, but its regrouping is significantly more time consuming than in the case of seminar rooms.

All lecture rooms allow you to present the images and sound from the teacher’s PC and your own laptop. In addition, some of them support more advanced presentation methods (presentations from multiple sources at once, presentations from a mobile device, etc.). A system for easy recording and streaming of lectures is also available in many rooms.

Lecture rooms with the capacity from 40 to 70 seats:

Lecture rooms with the capacity above 70 seats:

Lecture hall (pitched floor)

Lecture halls are characterised by a large capacity (70 seats and more), pitched floor, which ensures good visibility even with a large number of listeners. The halls enable large-scale projection from the teacher’s PC, own laptop or mobile device. In some of them, it is possible to use a microphone set to amplify the lecturer’s voice. A system for easy recording and streaming of lectures is also available. For this reason, the lecture halls are excellent for lectures by distinguished guests, conferences or faculty events for the public.

Computer room

In computer labs, students have their own computers with headphones and a standard set of installed programmes. In addition, in some lecture rooms, computers are equipped with specific software. In addition to specialized teaching, computer labs can also be used for secure online testing.

Specialized lecture rooms

Some rooms at the FA differ significantly in their equipment from the other types outlined above. They are suitable for various types of specialized teaching, although their equipment is still sufficient for classical teaching.

The Catalogue of Lecture Rooms was prepared and is managed by the staff of the Centre for Information Technologies FA MU.
