Basic information

M21 is a lecture hall situated on the second floor of Building M.

Lecture halls are characterised by a large capacity, pitched floor, which ensures good visibility even with a large number of attendees. In addition to lectures for a larger number of students, they are also suitable for conferences, guest lectures or faculty events for the public.

The lecture room is equipped with microphones that can be used both for recording and for amplifying the lecturer’s voice. (The sound from the microphones is sent to the speakers in the room.) There are two handheld microphones and two headset microphones available. All microphones can be switched on at once. You can adjust the volume of the sound output from the microphones and the volume of the sound played using the control knob on the control panel, which also controls the volume of the sound played from the currently selected input.

Projection possibilities

A standard projector is available for projecting multimedia content.

You can present images and sound from a PC located on the desk and also from your own laptop connected via the HDMI, VGA or USB-C connector. Connecting cables and electrical sockets are located under the metal cover at the top of the desk.

The room also allows wireless presentation of image and sound from devices with Windows, Android, and iOS operating systems. You can present an image directly from your device (Windows, Android) or project images, documents or presentations stored on your device (Android, iOS) without being tied to one place in the room. Your students can present as well. For a wireless presentation from mobile devices, you need to have the Sharelink Pro application installed (you can get it for free in Google Play or App Store).

Recording of lectures

In the lecture room, you can use the lecture recording device, which allows you to easily record your lecture. To make a recording, log in to the PC and press the Record button on the control panel – pressing the button again will end the recording.
The recording contains both the image from the camera in the room and the image projected through projector. You can pre-check it using the Stream Preview icon on the PC desktop.
You can find the finished recording in your personal category in the Faculty Media Library, you will also be informed via e-mail about the processing of the recording.

For sufficient sound quality, it is advisable to use a headset or handheld microphone located in the desk. Open the desk cabinet by attaching the chip card to the sensor on the left side of the cabinet. The microphone activates automatically when you pull it out of the charging station, you can switch it off by putting it in the charging station again. You can use both microphones at once in this room.

The recording camera and wireless microphones can also be used in video conferencing applications, for example for hybrid teaching purposes. Follow the printed instructions in the room to set up the device correctly in the video conferencing application.
