| Popis | Accelerated research into the web environment for art mediation, especially in the last two to three years, has confirmed that the online web environment has lent itself not only to the production, but also to the distribution and presentation of art for several decades. By opening a web browser, we enter an interface that represents a gateway to undecidability, to a data space of semantic and material potentiality. Not only from the perspective of the materiality of space or the architecture of an exhibition, in opposition to an exhibition in a physical space, but curating on the web requires the creation of a different operational framework and structure, to which the work of the curator, but also artistic production, must to a certain extent adapt. The paper will be devoted to exemplifying the above on selected examples of art exhibitions realized in the web environment in recent times and on the example of a virtual gallery and an experimental space for artistic production in the environment of the ScreenSaverGallery screen saver. The emphasis will be placed on the problematization of the act of framing and contextualizing the artwork and the exhibition space as such, as well as on the differences in communication strategies in the relationship between gallery (physical x online) - artwork - viewer. |
