75th Anniversary of the Dutch Studies in Brno: A Day with a Translation from Dutch

The Dutch Studies at FF MU celebrate 75 years of existence in 2022. We will celebrate this anniversary on Friday 7 October 2022 in the framework of an international conference called Dutch Translation Day. The celebrations also include a UNESCO panel exhibition with Czech-Dutch personalities, which is on display on the fence of the Faculty of Arts MU until 5 October 2022.

On the road to freedom. An exhibition on Taiwanese literature

An exhibition on Taiwanese literature, highlighting the most important themes of Taiwanese literature in the context of modern Taiwanese history and Czech-Taiwanese relations. The exhibition also includes translations of Taiwanese literature into Czech. The exhibition consists of 16 posters and an accompanying programme of lectures on Taiwanese literature.

TIM Master Class: Marie Gilbertová

The lecture aims to introduce the concept of cultural institution, its development and presentation to the public (ethnographic and social context), the role of memory organizations, especially museums as cultural institutions in the education of society as a whole, and last but not least the existence of professional organizations (e.g. ICOM).

TIM: Master Class: Circular Religion and Economic Metastasis

Tomáš Hlavenka's talk about the perniciousness of sustainable development on the basis of deep ecology. On the unifying cultural value of Europe, propaganda, Gaia theory, the value of looking into the treetops and what to do when the best thing to do is doing nothing. Thoughts on topics no one cares about and no one wants to hear.
