This project aims at detailed study of selected sources on the history of dissenting religious movements in Western medieval Christianity of 12th-14th centuries with special focus on groups and currents identified as Cathars in the three main regions of its presence (South-Western France, Italy, Rhineland). The submitter is involved in long-term study of the topic. The project will bring original scholarly findings on these texts for further study in history, study of religions, and theology. Specific outcomes will be at least four Czech and two English or French articles, papers at four international conferences, a monograph consisting of comments and translations of ca 30-40 Cathar, anti-Cathar, chronicler’s and other texts from 12th-14th century from the original languages (mainly Latin and Old Occitan) with a general introduction (30-60 pages), introductions to particular texts, detailed notes, index and original findings on these texts and its content interesting for Czech as well as international research.
